HTML # 5 - HTML Versions

HTML Versions-

There are many versions of HTML:

1) HTML 1.0 (1989 - 1994)-

HTML 1.0 was the first release of HTML to the world. HTML 1.0 was limited in terms of styling and presentation of content. In HTML 1.0, you could not use tables or frames,specify fonts,change page background, or use forms. Because of these limitations, each page created with HTML 1.0 looked the same with similar background and the type of font used.

2) HTML 2.0 (1995)-

HTML 2.0 was the standard for web design until January 1997.It defined many core HTML features for the first time. HTML 2.0 supports core HTML features and elements, for example, tables and forms with limited set of form elements, for example, text boxes, and option buttons.

3) HTML 3.2 (1997)-

HTML 3.2 finished by the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) in mid 1997. This version included help for making tables and extended alternatives for form components. It allowed web pages to include complex scientific conditions.HTML 3.2 support many presentation-focused element, for example, font, as well as early help for some scripting features.

4) HTML 4.01 (1995)-

HTML 4.01 is the present official standard. This adaptation is very stable.This form included help for style sheets and scripting capacity for multimedia components.

5) XHTML 1.0 (2000)-

In 21st century, the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) issued their details of XHTML 1.0 as a proposal. Since January 26, 2000 it remains as the joint-standard with HTML 4.01. It is a new branch of HTML. There weren't many new tags and properties in XHTML, but few things changed with a view of extended availability and functionality.

6) HTML 5 (2012)-

The HTML5 term that we see today has been published as a working draft and it is not yet last. HTML 5 is still a work in progress, and all major browsers support a large number of the new HTML5 elements and APIs. Its used to improve the language with help for the most recent multimedia while keeping it easily readable by people and reliably understood by PCs and devices.
